I Dreamed I Had a Goldfish That Could Count to Ten

By Castel Volante

One night, I drift off to sleep and find myself in a dreamy underwater world. In this magical place, I meet a special goldfish named Finn the Fantastic. Finn has vibrant, shimmering scales and a lovely long tail that sways gracefully in the water.

Finn tells me a secret—he can count to ten! I am amazed by his talent and ask him to show me. With a flick of his tail, he begins to count, “One, two, three…” As he continues, beautiful bubbles rise from his mouth, each one holding a number inside.

We decide to play a counting game with the bubbles. “Four, five, six…” Finn counts, and we gently tap the bubbles, watching them float around us. It’s like a delicate dance of numbers, swirling and twirling in the water.

In this peaceful place, I feel as light as a feather, floating effortlessly alongside Finn. The water around us is as clear as glass, and we see other friendly fish swimming in harmony. It’s a world where everything is in perfect balance, like a well-orchestrated symphony.

Soon, we meet a wise old sea turtle named Tilly the Timekeeper. Tilly has a magnificent shell, adorned with intricate patterns that resemble a beautiful, ever-changing clock face. She helps us understand the meaning of our counting game.

Tilly tells us that our game is like the moments in life that we treasure, every bubble a precious memory to be cherished. Finn’s counting reminds us to make the most of our time and to appreciate the beauty of every moment we have together.

As our dreamy adventure comes to an end, I feel calm and content, ready to drift back to my peaceful slumber. I thank Finn the Fantastic and Tilly the Timekeeper for their wisdom and friendship. With a gentle wave, they send me on my way, leaving me with a heart full of warmth and serenity.
